The Latest News

Hey guys friend of the site and independent filmmaker Kim Sonderholm wanted me to share the follwing press release about their latest effort Horror Vault 3. I’ve not seen this installment yet, but the others have been rather entertaining and a fun way to check out the short films of some talented independent directors.
THE HORROR VAULT 3 out now.
The third and final installment of The Horror Vault Trilogy is out on DVD now. It contains five new stories of terror and depravity.
Starting off, it's "A Christmas Haunting" directed by Kim Sønderholm and starring Kim Sønderholm, Russ Diapper, Tanja Bønke, Mette Løvendahl and Celebrity model Katrine Poulsen. There's also some brief cameos by wellknown indie stars such as April Monique Burril, Monique Dupree, Eileen Daly, Brinke Stevens and Eleanor James. Also horror diva Dai Green and Playboy model Nikki Magnusson makes a brief appearance aswell as Swedish topmodel Veronica Thorsell.
Then follows "Zombie Office" by English film maker Johan A Krueger, which is a black, twisted and comedicly nihilistic story about...well, guess the title pretty much says it all.
"Undone" by David C. Hayes and John Scott Mills follows, about a man kidnapping another man wanting revenge for his crimes. "Undone" stars David C. Hayes, Eleni C. Krimitsos, Kevin Moyers and many more.
Up next is "Unchangeable" by Canadian born film maker James Barclay, about a man going slow inside after the tragic death of his girlfriend. "Unchangeable" lives in a very David Lynch-esqe universe which will definately leave you thinking about it after it's over. "Unchangeable" stars James Barclay, Lene Storgaard, Kim Sønderholm Henrik Vestergaard Nielsen, Anders Brink Madsen, Leslie Hinge and many more.
Finally, where "Unchangeable" leaves us in an insane universe, "The Psychomanteum" takes us even further. Megon Kirkpatrick stars as the teenager who falls deeper and deeper into insanity, accompanied by actors such as Dave Staley, Colleen O'Donnell and Helen Sanger Pierce as her mother.
THE HORROR VAULT 3 is now available on DVD at various retails such as amazon.com, amazon.ca, Barnes & Noble, Target, Axelmusic.com and all other renown retails.

I wanted to thank everyone that signed up for the Bitten DVD giveaway. I’ll be contacting the winners over the next couple of days. This was our biggest contest to date as far as entries go. Look for future contests here at the site.

I hope that everyone had a great 4th of July and still has all there fingers! Fireworks can be tricky sometimes...
So a few bits of site business. First up the Bitten contest will remain open until Friday the 9th. Sometime on Saturday I’ll toss everyone’s name in a hat and draw the winners. I wanted to thank everyone that entered. This has been one of our best contests yet (at least as far as the response goes)!
I also wanted to remind everyone that the new podcast is up and ready to listen to. It features an interview with Belinda Balaski who was in the Howling and Piranha to name a couple. She was an awesome lady to talk to, so I encourage everyone to take a listen.
Some of you guys have been emailing me about the YouTube page. Just so everyone knows I’m not shutting it down or anything like that. Truth is I’ve just been really busy with other things, including some killer interviews for the podcast. I do have some fun videos planned so keep your eyes open.
Finally I wanted to welcome another independent film distributor to the Gutmunchers “family”. R Squared films is putting out some interesting independent movies. So far I’ve only checked out and reviewed a couple of their movies (Office of the Dead and Call of the Hunter) but I like what I see so far.

Damn it is July already! We are already halfway thru the year. Seems like it was 2009 only yesterday...
We keep on rolling here at Gutmunchers. Today we have a couple of new reviews for you, including a review for a Bigfoot movie (you guys know how much I love Bigfoot movies!) from Troma. Also up is a review for the latest from director Greg Lamerberson, Slime City Massacre. I’ve also been very pleased that the library section of the site where we review books, magazines, and comics has been active lately (thanks again Jason!).
Well that is all I had for right now. Though I did want to remind everyone to sign up for the DVD contest. It is for a nifty little vampire flick starring everyone’s favorite stoner Jason Mewes. Check it out right above the news section here.
