Vampire Wars: Battle for the Universe (2005)

In the future humans have spread out into the universe and found that it's full of vampires.  All different kinds of vampires who move through space attacking human colonies and space stations.  V-San, short for Vampire Sanitation, is the group responsible for going in and cleaning up after the attacks.  When Captain Churchill is killed during a mission the new recruit Damien has to take his place, much to the displeasure of the other members of the unit.  Now Damien has to try to earn the respect of his crew while solving the mystery behind a new rash of attacks on human outposts where the defenses have been turned off leading to easy vampiric victories and massacres.

The movie doesn't have a whole lot of redeeming features.  Natassia Malthe plays a vampire human hybrid who is on the V-San team and the costume designers get her into some pretty nifty tight outfits, so that's a good thing.  There is also a talking vampiric slug that shows up for a few minutes at one point that I found amusing.  No great acting, special effects or script though.

I wouldn't rent this movie, but if it was free on TV I might watch it if nothing else was on.  It's not great, but it's sort of watchable.  It has a few funny scenes and even the bad parts aren't unbearable.
