Stiff Jobs (2009)

This is the latest movie from the twisted minds at Hack movies and director Kevin Strange.  Wolfram and Windgate are just your average hit men rolling thru life killing people and scoring with the ladies.  Everything seems to be going well for them until one day the body of the best hit man in Strangeville shows up in their car.  Then they get sucked into a conspiracy masterminded by the evil mastermind Cockhammer, who has plans for the two hit men.  Evil plans of course.  What are those plans you might be asking?  I suppose we will have to wait until the sequel that this movie is leading into.

What can I say about a movie that features crap and jizz flying all over the place?  Well the first thing that comes to mind is that on only a few occasions in my life has something been so disgusting and funny that I wanted to puke and laugh at the same time.  Seriously they just went for it this time and ended up with a very twisted and hilarious movie that goes on the list of DVDs that I will be showing my friends, just to see their reactions.  The humor here is basically all fart, poop, and sex jokes, which is damn funny.  But if that isn’t your sort of thing or if you lack a sense of humor stay far away from this movie.  On the other hand if you are down with a movie that has a running commentary on what race of women give the best oral sex then Stiff Jobs needs to be in your collection!

Being a really low budget movie I normally wouldn’t talk much about the cast or the acting.  In fact in my opinion Kevin Strange is normally the best actor in most of the Hack movies and he really isn’t in this movie much.  Of the two main characters David Wayne Black, who plays Windgate, is about what you would expect.  He just doesn’t seem that comfortable in front of the camera and delivers his lines in a very flat monotone voice.  But Thadeus Starbuckle, who plays the other hit man Wolfram, is awesome.  Not only is he a decent actor and delivers his lines with a lot of energy, but he is freaking funny as hell!  This might be one of the best performances that I’ve seen in one of these no budget movies.  No joke he is that good.

Kevin Strange and the crew at Hack just keep getting better at making these movies.  The camera work is pretty good and somehow Strange makes sure that the lighting in all the scenes is decent so you can actually see what is going on.  This is a real big beef for me when it comes to independent filmmakers.  I can’t tell you the amount of movies that I’ve sat thru not knowing what is happening because I can’t see anything.  There are a few basic special effects that work well.  Though I’m pretty sure that someone fell in love with the bullet hit to the head effect, because they use it again and again.  Still being that this is a comedy and they aren’t taking themselves seriously it only added to the goofy feel of the movie.

Stiff Jobs is a low budget independent comedy that goes out of it’s way to be as gross and twisted as possible to get it’s laughs.  That is what they are going for and they succeeded.  So anyone that watches this and gets offended or pissed off, really why did you even bother with the DVD?  I knew what I was getting into and really enjoyed this movie.  Personally I think it is their best movie since Dead Shit, which is still my favorite.  I recommend that anyone lacking a stick up their butt check this movie out.  For more information on where to pick this movie up head on over to the Hack Movies website at http://www.hackmovies.com/press.html
