SS Girls (1977)

During WW II the Nazis decide to setup a whorehouse for their officers.  The intent is not only to provide much needed “entertainment” but thru the use of specially trained prostitutes they hope to collect information about disloyal officers.  A crazy SS officer named Schellenberg, who enjoys his champagne and his organ, runs the whole operation.  Okay no joke here it is an actual organ that he likes to play music on!  But as the war winds down and the Germans are in retreat Schellenberg falls victim to his own system and jealous ex-lover.  But they do allow him one last big party before he is to kill himself!

I don’t consider this a “real” Naziploitation movie in the vein of Ilsa She Wolf of the SS.  It seems more like a sexploitation movie with Nazis in it.  The story is terribly flimsy and the acting completely over the top and silly.  But then again what do you expect for a Bruno Mattei directed movie?  His stuff ranges from terrible to terrible, but really fun.  This movie falls somewhere in the middle of that range.  SS Girls is nothing more than one soft-core sex scene after the other with some mismatched war footage from another movie cut into it.  That may sound entertaining, but it does get old after a while.  Though I did appreciate the copious amounts of nudity and this movie has the best training montage ever!  Immediately after one of the characters utters the line, “They will be highly trained love machines capable of performing under any circumstances” we are treated to women having sex with all sorts of things and in all sorts of situations.  They are tied up, whipped, forced to make love with a hideously deformed man, and a fat guy.  Okay as a fat guy I’m not sure how I feel about being lumped in with the rest, but I’ll try and not be too sensitive.  But just when you think that they have done it all you see a woman in bed with a German Shepard!  It just goes to show you that Bruno Mattei was always ready to out sleaze anyone.

If you are in the mood to watch an hour and a half of soft-core sex thinly connected by a Nazi storyline then this is the movie for you.  Of all the Nazi themed exploitation movies I’ve been watching lately this is the least mean of the bunch.  I mean the movie does still have it’s moments, but overall lacks any of the really nasty torture scenes that are so popular in the subgenre.  Again there isn’t much story here so I can’t recommend it, unless you are a devoted Mattei fan (god help you).
