Bad Boy Bubby (1993)

From 1993 and Australia comes Bad Boy Bubby, who was locked in their house by his mother for over thirty years, Bubby is convinced by his mother that the out side is poison.

Bubby’s life is not normal for sure, his mom “loves” him a little too much, she ain’t no beauty and we see “a lot” of her so don’t eat while watching.

One day his estranged father comes back and set in motion circumstances force Bubby into the waiting world, a place that is just as unusual to him as he is to the world.

On his entry to the outside world he acts like a parrot and repeats anything he has heard.

Which of course leads to many misunderstandings. Bubby’s misadventures lead to one after the other, he meets up with an atheist that tries to convert him, a group of musicians that make him the lead singer of their band (he sings all of the things he has heard from his mom and pop), and a group of mentally ill children. In just a week, Bubby’s bizarre and underground music becomes a hit, he is thought of as a miracle worker when people learn he can talk to speech impaired mentally ill children, and he falls in love with one of their nurses.

The Video looks very good here but nothing that stands out but still no grain is present.

The audio as well is serviceable and since no big booms and explosions so can say its great but its good.

Now for the film it self, the actor Nicholas Hope is a dead ringer for Doug Bradley, he is a very good actor to convey emotion which some crazy dialogue but I really didn’t enjoy the movie to me its just quirky for quirks sake. It’s over the top with its un -PC and anti-religion. To me it goes from crazy to a bore, the crappy songs he sings and the thing with his chubby chasing ways.  He turns down two hot chicks for a fatty. Come on.
